The Stream Option | Week 15

The Stream Option is a weekly article where The Undroppables explore the best options at Quarterback, Defense, and Tight End that should be available in most leagues.
*Note: ESPN rostership rates were gathered on 12/15/2020 and are subject to change.

    Quarterbacks

Drew Lock – DEN vs BUF

Lock is coming off one of the best games of his career, as he completed 77.8% of his passes and threw for four touchdowns in last week’s win over the Panthers. He has an opportunity to follow up his strong performance with another in Week 15, when the Broncos face the Buffalo Bills. While the Bills are clearly a good team, they are currently allowing the 8th most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Meanwhile, the Bills offense should be able to score on the Broncos defense, which should put Lock in a positive game-script for fantasy points with Denver playing from behind. Drew Lock is currently rostered in 9.7% of ESPN fantasy leagues.

Philip Rivers – IND vs HOU

I recommended Rivers last week against the Raiders, and he delivered a solid 17.76 point outing. If you’re looking for a QB that provides a safe floor with top-12 upside, I would recommend turning to Rivers again in Week 15. While he likely won’t carry your fantasy team to a win, he shouldn’t bog you down into a loss either. He sees a solid matchup this week with Houston currently allowing the 9th most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, and the reemergence of T.Y. Hilton gives Rivers a serious weapon in the passing game. Overall, the Indy offense seems to be hitting their stride as of late, and Rivers should benefit in fantasy. If you choose to pick him up, Rivers is available in 75.6% of ESPN leagues.

    Tight Ends

Logan Thomas – WAS vs SEA

I’ve recommended Thomas for a few weeks now, and he just continues to perform without seeing much of a spike in his rostership. Thomas is averaging just over 16 points per game in his last three outings, and will be looking to continue this stretch against Seattle in Week 15. Everything I said about Thomas’ situation last week still rings true in my mind. Thomas is a large beneficiary of the checkdown-happy Alex Smith starting at QB for WFT and Antonio Gibson (the other large beneficiary of checkdown targets) missing time. Thomas is currently rostered in 59.2% of ESPN leagues despite being the TE8 on the season.

Cole Kmet – CHI @ MIN

Cole Kmet is emerging as a contributing member of the Bears offense late in his rookie season. Kmet saw the field on 85% of snaps in Week 14, more than any other skill position player on the Bears’ roster. He made use of these snaps by getting seven targets from Mitchell Trubisky, catching 4 for 41 yards. With this type of target share, Kmet could be in line for a much better stat line if he is able to be more efficient this week. Kmet is only rostered in 6.8% of ESPN fantasy leagues.

    Defenses

Miami Dolphins D/ST – MIA vs NE

Miami’s defense has been a sight to behold in 2020, proving that they can be a serious threat to stop opposing offenses. For example, the Dolphins showed their defensive prowess last week against the league’s best, the Kansas City Chiefs. Against Mahomes and company, the Dolphins were able to force four turnovers and three sacks. While the Dolphins still fell short of completely stopping the Chief’s electric offensive attack, the Dolphins will get a much easier matchup in Week 15 as the Patriots come to town. Miami is currently rostered in 68.8% of ESPN leagues.

Tennessee Titans D/ST – TEN vs DET

The Titans get a plus defensive matchup against Detroit in Week 15, but it could be even better. If Matthew Stafford is unable to suit up in Week 15, Tennessee becomes an elite defensive streaming option against the Chase Daniel-led Lions. However, this is one to watch, because the Titans will be a suspect option if Stafford is at the helm. The Titans are readily available in 78% of ESPN leagues if Daniel is the starter.
