The Stream Option | Week 7

The Stream Option is a weekly article where The Undroppables explore the best options at Quarterback, Defense, and Tight End that should be available in most leagues.
*Note: ESPN rostership rates were gathered on 10/20/2020 and are subject to change.

    Quarterbacks

Justin Herbert – LAC vs JAX

Justin Herbert is averaging 21.8 fantasy points per game, good for eighth-best in the NFL. Ridiculously, he is only rostered in 59% of ESPN fantasy leagues. Along with his past, solid performances, Herbert faces a decent-at-best Jacksonville defense in week 7. Herbert is a solid stream in Week 7, with the possibility of becoming your starting QB for the rest of the season.

Ryan Tannehill – TEN vs PIT

There is one other Quarterback I feel should be rostered much more: Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill currently ranks 5th among QBs in fantasy PPG, but faces a stout Pittsburgh defense in Week 7 and has some tough matchups on the horizon. However, in Weeks 13-17, he faces Cleveland, Jacksonville, Detroit, Green Bay, and Houston. Each of these teams has only average pass defenses. At only 66.2% rostership, I strongly recommend Tannehill, and there is a possibility that he is good enough to be matchup-proof.

    Tight Ends

Anthony Firkser – TEN vs PIT

After Jonnu Smith exited last week’s game against Houston with an ankle injury, Firkser put up 25.3 fantasy points. While Jonnu is currently questionable for next week’s game, Firkser is a good play if Jonnu is ruled out. Moreover, Firkser is only rostered in 0.2% of ESPN leagues, so he is an option in even the deepest of leagues. However, his opportunity lies completely with Jonnu’s injury, so don’t expect long-term production or a start-worthy game in Week 7 if Jonnu is playing.

Dalton Schultz – DAL @ WAS

I know Andy Dalton and the Dallas offense was incredibly disappointing in their first game without Dak Prescott. However, if there has ever been a team to have a bounce-back game against, it’s Washington. Schultz saw five targets in Dalton’s first start, and if he continues to see that kind of volume with Dalton leading the offense, he will be just fine for fantasy. Schultz is only rostered in 53.1% of ESPN leagues.

    Defenses

    Buffalo Bills D/ST @ NYJ

Sam Darnold may be back for the Jets in Week 7, but they’re still coached by Adam Gase. As for the Bills, they were projected to have a very good defense at the start of the season, but they have not been able to completely put it together this season. Only rostered in 65.5% of ESPN leagues, they should be a good pickup for Week 7.

Kansas City Chiefs D/ST @ DEN

The Chiefs Defense is currently the twelfth ranked defense in fantasy football, meanwhile, the Broncos are the 3rd best matchup for fantasy defenses. Drew Lock struggled immensely against the Patriots last week, throwing two interceptions and almost letting the Pats back into the game late. If Lock doesn’t improve in his second game back from injury, the Chiefs have an opportunity for a solid fantasy outing.
